Service Notice: Potential Impact to Child and Spousal Support Services
In May 2024, the Department of Economic Security Division of Child Support Services (DES-DCSS) transitioned to a new case management system (AZCARES) for child and spousal support obligations. The Clerk’s Office and Superior Court rely on DES-DCSS’ system to provide various support-related services. During the initial implementation period, customers may experience impacts to the following support-related services:
1. Payment processing delays
2. Payment History request delays
3. Arrearage Calculation requests (currently unavailable)
The Clerk’s Office, along with the Maricopa County Superior Court and statewide Court representatives, remain actively engaged with DES-DCSS to resolve system issues and restore efficient support-related services.
Please contact us at (602) 372-5375 or fssresearch@maricopa.gov with any questions or concerns.
For those receiving child support: To prevent a delay in services, it is important that Department of Economic Security (DES) has your current information on file. Please make sure your mailing address is current. See important details below.

How to Make a Support Payment
The Family Support Services Division of the Clerk's Office is committed to timely processing of support payments and quality customer service. Note: Please check if your case is IV-D or Non IV-D before selecting a method of payment. IV-D cases are state run child support enforcement programs, which help parents establish paternity, initiate new child support orders and collect unpaid child support, among other services. Non-IV-D are child support cases where child support is established and maintained privately, and these cases are NOT enforced by the state.
