The Clerk of the Superior Court recognizes that certain cases related to elections attract greater public interest, and that meeting the requests for access to court documents in these cases can greatly impact the Clerk’s Office Public Records Department and could result in delays in providing copies of the documents because of the increased number of requests.

To ensure timely access to court documents related to election matters that garner significant public interest, starting in 2020, the Clerk requested that the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court issue Administrative Orders to allow the posting of documents related to the elections.

Administrative Orders:

Administrative Order 2020-149

Administrative Order 2022-138

Administrative Order 2024-074

Documents displayed on the Clerk’s webpages do not constitute the official court record in these matters but are permitted to be displayed pursuant to the Administrative Orders listed above. Under Rule 123, the Clerk's Office is prohibited from providing remote access to court records without such court orders or Administrative Orders. Records designated as confidential by law, rule, or administrative order or that have been ordered sealed will not be accessible for review on the Clerk’s website. Additionally, overly voluminous documents may not be displayed in their entirety.

As stated in the Administrative Orders related to election matters, the Clerk has discretion to determine what cases and the type of case records available via the Clerk’s public website.

Election Years:

2024 Election – Documents related to the November 5, 2024 General Election that meet the criteria listed in the 2024 Administrative Order will be posted to the Clerk’s Office Election 2024 webpage.

2022 and 2020 Elections – Documents in these cases will no longer be posted on the Clerk’s website to ensure resources are directed to the 2024 Election webpage. However, publicly accessible documents are available for viewing at any Clerk’s Office public access computers and copies may be obtained via the normal records request process.
