Alternative Filing / External 24-Hour Filing Depository Boxes

The Clerk of the Court's Office offers four external filing depository boxes, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LOCATION
The External Filing Depository Boxes are located:

Downtown Phoenix / map
The Downtown External Filing Depository Box is located at the 4th avenue entrance to the 301 West Jefferson County Administration Building.

Mesa / map
The Mesa External Filing Depository Box is located at the north entrance of the Southeast Court Complex, 222 E. Javelina.

Northeast Regional Center / map
The Northeast External Filing Depository Box is located at the main entrance of the Northeast Regional Center, 18380 N. 40th St.


Northwest Regional Center
The Northwest External Filing Depository Box is located at the main entrance of the Northwest Regional Center, 14264 West Tierra Buena Lane.


INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions on how to use the External Filing Depository Boxes are as follows:

  • Time stamp the original document on the upper right hand corner of the front page.
  • It is the responsibility of the person who physically places the original document in the depository to make sure the date and time are legibly stamped on the document.
  • If the date and time is illegible, or missing, we will affix the date and time our staff processes the document as the filed date and time.
  • Any copies submitted with the original must be accompanied by an appropriate routing slip and will be available for pick-up the following business day.
  • Attach the filing fee, if required, to the original document; (Either a money order with signature and address or *business check made payable to the Clerk of Court. (Do not deposit cash payments).

    *NO PERSONAL CHECKS ACCEPTED. A business check will only be accepted if it matches the business name of a party in the case or if submitted from a law firm, process server/runner service or certified document preparer.
  • Secure the items with a clip or rubber band. Do not insert paperclips, binder clips or more than the front page of the document into the time clock document slot.
  • Place the package in the Depository Filing Box Slot.
    (The slot opening is one-inch. Documents larger than one inch, should be grouped in sections such as "1 of 3," ""2 of "3," and "3 of 3.")

PROCEDURE
The Clerk’s Office collects the documents each morning. Staff then process the paperwork. Any documents that need to be returned to the customer or runner will be ready for pick-up at or by noon at the appropriate file counter. The 24-Hour Filing Depository Box is available for Civil, Criminal, Family Court, Tax, and Probate filings. It is NOT available for any Juvenile filings or mandatory Civil eFile filings.

 

Alternative Filing / Internal Filing Depository Boxes

The Clerk of the Court's Office offers internal filing depository boxes at three locations. These are available during normal business hours.

LOCATIONS
The Internal Filing Depository Boxes are located:

Downtown Phoenix / map
West of Main Lobby Area of Central Court Building, 201 W. Jefferson

Northeast Regional Center / map
In the main lobby area / 18380 N. 40th Str., Phoenix

Old Courthouse / map
In the Probate Counter lobby, 1st floor 125 W. Washington.
